The new zone at EDPCOOLJAZZ broadens the festival’s offert in the late afternoon, featuring national jazz talents - jazz trios come together to give the headstart of the cooler summer nights, invading the spaces of Parque Marechal Carmona, Cascais, on the Cool Pick&Go zone (festival foodcourt).

9 JULY | Parque Marechal Carmona | 8:30pm

João Pedro Coelho (piano), Romeu Tristão (bass guitar) and Nemanja Delic (drums) join the Jazz Trio Palette. Young musicians with experience in the national jazz scene and who decide with this trio to play "jazz of the old, even to the old!", As they define themselves.

10 JULY | Parque Marechal Carmona | 8:30pm

The way of Renato Sousa crossed in the beginning with other musical genres. The study of the guitar led him to work deeply on the six strings of the instrument. The mixture of genres, however, is guaranteed in the expression of his jazz trio given that the term "fusion" is what best defines the group commanded by Renato Sousa.

From Pedro Abrunhosa to Dead Combo, from Beatriz Pessoa to Salvador Sobral, drummer Guilherme Melo has managed to expand the range of artists with whom he has collaborated in his career. Born in Coimbra, the musician moved to Lisbon at the age of 18 and since then jazz has served as a starting point for multiple presentations and collaborations. For CASCAIS JAZZ SESSIONS the format is in trio.

Hot Clube Portugal Orchestra, Big Band Estarejazz and Águeda Jazz Orchestra currently composes the trio of big bands that Tomás Marques integrates. The young saxophonist just 19 years old has gained notoriety through his applauded live performances. Nowadays, he also integrates the "Ao Paredes Confesso" project of the Bernardo Moreira quintet. In Cascais, the stage comes up with two more musicians

Founded by the Loosense fusion jazz collective, drummer Pedro Nobre also collaborates with other projects from other musical areas. The academic path had passes through institutions like Barreiro Jazz School and currently studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. The trio format is the model to go up the stage of CASCAIS JAZZ SESSIONS on July 24th.

25 JULY | Parque Marechal Carmona | 8:30pm

One of the most versatile musicians on the Portuguese scene, Elmano Coelho has made a consistent journey not only in the national jazz scene as well as in Portuguese music itself. From collaborations with various groups and artists, there are tours with Mallu Magalhães, Paulo Flores, Herman José, among others. The tenor and soprano saxophonist is presented in a trio format at CASCAIS JAZZ SESSIONS.

27 JULY | Parque Marechal Carmona | 8:30pm

The vibraphone is probably one of the most complex and rare instruments to watch on stage. On July 27, Eduardo Cardinho presents himself with his vibraphone in trio format - Nelson Cascais (guitarist) and Rui Pereira (drums). The performance features original music, but also themes from the American jazz songbook.

31 JULY | Parque Marechal Carmona | 8:30pm

Since the age of 15 Carlos Borges has dedicated himself to musical study, more concretely in the Conservatory of Music of Coimbra. In this institution he concluded the Professional Course of Jazz Instrumentalist and soon after he started his path at the Superior School of Music of Lisbon, finishing the Bachelor of Jazz Variant Music. Between several projects Carlos Borges integrates the live performances of Marta Hugo and Orchestra Smooth. The bass player is will perform with two more musicians on July 31th at CASCAIS JAZZ SESSIONS.
